  • Welcome to the new Bachelor of Photography pathway program students

An interesting and stimulating introductory seminar was held on Sunday 28 July for this new intake of degree pathway students.

The seminar featured a keynote presentation by Dr Jane Poynter, discussing the notion that truth in images of the Australian landscape lies not in the actual landscape but in the cultural meaning we ascribe to place.

In the afternoon Mauro Risch and Hugh Hudson presented the session exploring the journey and three semester program ahead. And following this a fascinating and thought provoking panel session capped off the seminar by addressing the question, "Digital technologies have made the still image more open to manipulation than ever before. Has this diminished the authority and documentary value off the image in society?"
