Canon Australia and National Geographic recently joined forces to create a six part television series titled Tales by Light, which went to air on the National Geographic channel in May this year. It follows five world-class photographers as they venture into some of the world’s most extreme and fascinating environments in pursuit of beautiful images that tell stories.

Produced by Abraham Joffe, the photographers featured were American landscape and vanishing cultures specialist Art Wolfe and Australians Darren Jew, Richard I’Anson, Peter Castaway and Krystle Wright. Each episode provided rare insight into their journeys as visual storytellers – their challenges, motivations, and moments of joy in capturing an elusive moment by light.

Darren Jew and Peter Eastway will present some of the photographs taken on their trips, from amazing underwater shots of Pacific Ocean whales and wrecks, to the cold whites of Antarctica and South Georgia. It will be an opportunity to learn what it's like to get one of the best 'jobs' in the world, and to ask how they managed to do it!

This is a free event however numbers are strictly limited. Bookings are required and can be made online via Eventbrite.
