'Panellists: Angela Tiatia (Artist), Hoda Afshar (Artist), Dr Danny Butt (Associate Director (Research) at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne) The art world has always both reinforced and challenged questions of power. Through history, privilege and access have played as big a role as artistic talent when it comes to elevating artists and deciding which legacies to preserve. This panel addresses the growing conversation about representation and visibility in the art world. It also explores the impact of our polarised political climate on the process of making and showing art — as well as the pressures and possibilities for artists who’ve had to fight for their work to be seen. Ultimately, it asks: how important is for art to respond to this political moment? And how can we make the art world an equitable place for everyone?'
'VAULT Magazine is hosting the second in its public program series at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA) on Saturday the 16th February, to dissect the critical theme of art in a global political climate and celebrate the launch of our 25th issue!
The afternoon includes a panel discussion, hosted by VAULT editor Alison Kubler, followed by drinks and refreshments. Guests will receive a complimentary copy of VAULT Issue 25.'

Hoda is a lecturer of the Bachelor of Photography & Masters-of Arts Photography programs at PSC, she is a practising visual artist and winner of the National Photographic Portrait Prize (March 2015). Hoda is also a PhD candidate at the department of Art at Curtin University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art - Photography at Azad University of Art and Architecture in Tehran.
She started her career as a documentary photographer and was selected by 'World Press Photo' in 2006 as one of the top ten young documentary photographers of Iran to attend their Educational Training Program.
