At the gala Canon Australian Professional Photography Awards night in Melbourne last night 28 May, Australia's peak photography industry body, the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) awarded PSC the 2012 Tertiary Institution of the Year for excellence in Photographic education and training. This is the second consecutive year that PSC has taken out this national award. This annual event recognises excellence in all areas of commercial photography, including photojournalism and also acknowledges excellence in the education and training sector of the industry.

Eligible entrants for the photographic education awards come from the university and vocational education sector right across Australia.
