We have welcomed a few new members to the PSC community in 2015. One of them is award-winning photographer Ying Ang.
Based between Melbourne, Singapore and New York, Ying Ang is a photographer of the social, personal and contemporary landscape. Ying has exhibited widely in group and solo shows from New York to Arles, with a full portfolio of her most current project, 'Gold Coast', housed in the permanent collection of the Sagamihara City Museum in Japan. She graduated as valedictorian for the 2009-2010 class of Documentary Photography and Photojournalism at
The International Centre of Photography, New York. She has garnered a wide range of of international awards and was a participant in the
Reflexions Masterclass of 2011-2013.
Ying teaches regular workshops in photography in New York, Melbourne and various international photography festivals specializing in photography books, with her most recent achievements as:
- Winner of the New York Photo Festival book prize for 2014
- Winner of the Encontros Da Imagem book prize for 2014
- Finalist for Photobook Melbourne's Australian Photobook of the Year 2015
- Listed by Flak Photo, Lensculture, Voices of Photography, Mark Power, Asia Pacific Photobook Archive and Self Publish Be Happy in their top photobooks of 2014
