PSC's Home Photo Competition Awards Ceremony in conjunction with Ted's Cameras was held on Sunday 16 May. It coincided with the College's May Open Day. We were delighted to welcome all our student winners, and their teachers, family and friends to our South Melbourne campus!

It was wonderful to meet in person, the WINNERS of the PSC Home Photo Competition for Victorian year 10, 11 and 12 secondary school students and their schools on the day of the awards ceremony.

This year’s competition attracted over 50 entries. Photo entries by all students were displayed at the celebratory event.
Two of the judges, PSC's Dean of Photography Studies, Daniel Boetker-Smith and Teresa Marino Ted's Professional Sales Consultant, awarded winning student and school attendees from Hillcrest Christian College, Bellarine Secondary College and Dandenong High School.
The third guest judge Clare Jellie, PSC Bachelor of Photography Graduate, also attended.

"Chege Mbuthi’s image stood out and was selected unanimously as the winner by the judges – the image is powerful and simple, and blends still life and portraiture in a unique and cinematic way. The subtle use of tone and colour is perfectly matched with a wonderful silhouette to create a striking photograph." Daniel said of the Grand Prize Winner's entry (see image above).

"We were excited to see how each student responded to the brief, and equally as intrigued to see the concept of 'home' being conveyed in such a variety of ways," PSC's Managing Director, Julie Moss who also attended the ceremony said of the submissions.

Unfortunately, representatives from the winners of the 'School with the Most Entries' Padua College, Mornington, and one of the Highly Commended student's Xavier Marotta from Trinity College Colac were unable to make it to the ceremony.

Students and teachers were given the opportunity to explore our South Melbourne campus, meet our lecturers, students, graduates and staff – and participate in our May Open Day photography studio activities and information sessions.
