High School Teacher - Professional Development Workshop

Yesterday, Photography Studies College (PSC) was thrilled to welcome 15 Art/Media teachers to our purpose-built photography campus for our highly anticipated High School Teacher Professional Development Workshop. It was a great atmosphere as everyone gathered to exchange ideas, share experiences, and gain valuable insights.

It was also a pleasure to finally put faces to names of teachers we'd been corresponding with and great to hear about their experiences and ideas around image-making and inspiring the next generation of image-makers.

This workshop marked a significant milestone for PSC, as it was the first time we had the privilege of hosting a professional development event exclusively for secondary teachers at our new campus. The COVID-19 pandemic had temporarily disrupted our outreach program to schools, making this occasion even more special. We are immensely grateful to these dedicated teachers for granting us the opportunity to reconnect and reignite our commitment to supporting their growth and development.

These teachers had the opportunity to explore portraiture and continuous lighting in our state-of-the-art studio, with a thorough demonstration and introduction led by our studio and lighting tutor, Mark Harper.

At PSC, we firmly believe in the power of collaboration and continuous professional growth. We are immensely grateful to the teachers who joined us for this workshop. We look forward to building on this and organising more engaging professional development workshops in the future, taking on their thoughtful feedback.

It is workshops like these, that remind us that together, we can create a thriving community to foster creativity in the fields of photography and digital imaging.

Throughout the year, PSC holds dedicated photography workshops for Year 11 & 12 students. We’re also more than happy to accommodate workshops and can arrange various types of photography workshops for a class of your senior secondary students (years 10 - 12). Workshops we have held in the past include street photography, portraiture, still life, and experimental lighting with colour & gels.
At this time of the year, we’d be looking at hosting workshops for 2024. You’re welcome to fill in this form to register if you’re interested and we will be in touch. Click here.
