You are invited to a showcase of Australian art, MoNOW (Manifestations of Now) to be held from 7-27 April across prominent venues at Federation Square.

Launch of this exciting exhibition, 7-10pm, Saturday 14 April, at NGV Studio, No Vacancy, The Atrium and the Big Screen at Federation Square. Music by ¡Thunderclapp!

MoNOW (Manifestations of Now)

MoNow (Manifestations of Now) brings together eighteen contemporary Australian artists from diverse art practices and cultural traditions, with works that span drawing, sculpture, video installation, photography, live performance and hybrid artforms.

Saturday 14th April Launch party 7-10pm featuring music by ¡Thunderclapp! A new artist collective ‘bringing together a range of cultural practitioners in order to facilitate connections across race, class and generations’. With performance by Dario Vacirca (6-7.30) as part of his artwork, ‘Cult of Old Regret’ in the glass walls of the Fracture Gallery.
Thursday 19th April Public forum: The role of art in 21st century Australia. Explore, question and manifest notions of what art is, or could be, now. This is your chance to join Professor Nikos Papastergiadis, in discussion with Peter Tyndall and Hossein Valamanesh, two artists who have lived and breathed through an important transitional state of Australian art in the last 4 decades. Thursday 26th April ART GURU TOUR Jump into the deep end in this fun and stimulating tour that will leave you with a fresh perspective on how to view art. This is not a tour for the passive observer. Artist and provocateur David Naylor finds accessible ways to engage and stimulate audiences into deeper reflection and embodied immersion into art.

Sunday 15th 11-2pm Dario Vacirca @ The Atrium
Monday 16- 26th 11.30 -2.30pm (except Saturday) ZHEN, drawing her self portrait from memory as a daily performance that is recorded to create a captivating video narrative. @ The Atrium under the screen.
*There will also be a short performance at the opening by ZHEN.
