Richard Woldendorp was named a “Living Treasure” in WA in 2004 and received an Order of Australia in 2012 “for service to the arts as an Australian landscape photographer.” Noted especially for his artful aerial photographs, he has 24 books and 46 one-man shows to his credit, and shows no signs of stopping at the age of 87.

Richard paid a visit to PSC toward the end of 2013 and was so impressed with what he saw that he donated copies of two of his books to The Hub. It is interesting to look at them together, as Walkabout in Australia dates back to 1977 and chronicles some of his earlier wanderings in the bush, while Out of the Blue (2013) is like a “Greatest Hits” collection of his signature aerial work. The evolution of his photographic vision and style is remarkable.
