Under Western Eyes focuses on the representation of Islamic women in the contemporary art world and examines the contrasting attitudes and conceptions of the veil and what it symbolises as a visual metaphor. The work explores the commercial and political context of the veil and its function as a kind of marketing tool in the global art scene.
