National Geographic photographer Jim Richardson is well-known for his educated eye and sophisticated problem-solving skills. When presented with an assignment to portray the unique botanic structure of tall prairie grasses from the plains of the American mid-west, he came up with a novel solution involving a flatbed scanner and image-stitching software.
